You Are Not A Goddess
There’s something you need to know, my lovely. You are not a goddess. And that’s ok. In fact, that’s more than ok. It’s just as it should be. Because…
You will mess things up and get it wrong. You will stumble. Often. You will fall if only to know that you have the strength to get back to your feet. You will have regrets. You will feel pain. You will ache with the effort it takes to get through some days. You will lose your temper. You will put your foot in your mouth. Your perfectionism will render you imperfect. You will do things that you won’t be proud of. And sometimes whole weeks will pass and you will feel like you haven’t very much to show for them.
But, you will also experience the full bodied glory of a belly laugh. You will enjoy off the charts pleasure. You will give yourself body and soul to another and recognise that for the precious gift that it is. You will love deeply. You will create beauty. You will tell stories of how you came to be yourself. You will weave together friendships and connections. You will dance with the breath of life. You will sing your soul song throughout all of existence just through the act of getting up each morning. You will receive tender acts of kindness that will touch your heart. And you will carry it forward.
You are not a goddess. But you are a woman. And that, my lovely, is a true blessing. And the moment you stop striving for divinity and start embracing humanity, you will discover what the goddess was guiding you towards all along. That the sacred resides in you and the ordinary everyday stuff of life. You are a woman, and you are glorious. Let us celebrate this. And honour it. And sing songs to it. Because this fullness of feminine expression is the goddess’ invitation – it’s not to be a goddess – it’s to be yourself.

Amy, thank you for this message. This week I have been struggling with ups and downs and this was a great reminder that it’s okay to not have a perfect day. I am a beautiful woman that feels and I can honor that no matter if it is a positive feeling or thought or one that is sad. I am me.

Thanks for reminder! Been having trouble keeping up with our “Pillow Goddess” blog these days. And don’t feel much like a Goddess of late. Taking care of myself first, then family, then business. Sometimes everything does not get done. 🙂

There you go again, weaving tapestries out of ribbon-words that let in the light. Thanks Lovie!
