Remembering Shakti
“Let us enter into communication with each of the energy centres that exist within the body. Let us learn the words spoken by our flesh, our bones, our blood, our breath. Let us follow the flow of our energy as it rises up within us, so that we may track all the ways it longs to seek expression in the world.”
Hecate and Sheila-Na-Gig were the first Practical Magic Business Circle goddesses to reveal themselves to me. And then there was Shakti.
I adore the energy of Shakti, for she is the stirring of life, she is the call for us to dance with our vital spark, to deeply and completely feel into what it means to live our embodiment. She fascinates me for so many reasons, but especially in business. For truly, what does it mean to be embodied in our business practice? Especially in an age when so much of our lives are lived online, in the ether.
When I introduced her last time, this was how I described her…
Shakti is the Hindu goddess who was born as the reincarnation of Parvati, Shiva’s wife. Her energy is held in the form of a coiled kundalini snake in our root chakra, and we are called to work with this energy to move it up through our chakras to connect with Shiva, who exists in our crown.
She is a goddess that helps us to dance with the true gift of our physical being, and helps us to connect to the various energy centres of our body. Consequently, she is the goddess who is supporting us to explore the theme of embodiment. I truly cannot think of a more appropriate goddess to do so.
And yet, as I discovered with every single one of these goddesses, the gifts that she offered were infinitely more complex, more generous, more revolutionary, than I could ever have imagined or anticipated.
At its heart, my dance with Shakti revealed the sacred nature of my own flesh. She brought me into such close communion with my skin, my bones, my muscle, my hormones, my nerves… and all the infinitely complex systems that keep me alive in this moment and in the next. She encouraged me to ask the question – what if we built our business from a place of reverence for the body?
As we cycle back around and connect once more with Shakti, I know that she will teach us such a huge amount about all the ways in which our body holds the wisdom that we seek, and how this wisdom can inform how we birth and build our businesses.
If you’re ready to do business differently, to invite in the extraordinary support of the goddess as business partner, and to deepen your own understanding of your business, your desire, your soul medicine, then the Practical Magic Business Circle is for you. We begin on the 9th March, and you are invited to claim your place now.
Oh, and if you book before the 14th February, you can take advantage of the Early Bird offer…
Our fourth goddess, Gaia, is our focus tomorrow. All things creativity and wholeness. This is the goddess that taught me the most about creative flow and the pain resistance causes when we don’t allow ourselves free and full expression – something I would argue are absolutely vital in the evolution of our businesses.
