    What The Butterfly Knows

One of my favourite apps for my iPhone (besides from Pixlr Express!) is Sarah Bamford Seidelmann‘s What The Walrus Knows. It’s a really cool wee app which delivers animal wisdom to you through an oracle function, as well as providing a field guide. For example, if you keep finding crow feathers, or you’re being stalked by tortoises, you can check out what guidance that animal has for you. So, when I was beginning to put together A Summer of Self & Soul, I asked which animal wanted to step forward to accompany those who were choosing to go on this journey together. Selfies As Sacred Practice

What if selfies formed the basis of your sacred practice? What do you think you’d discover about yourself? About your connection to the divine? About your cultural conditioning? That there isn’t the fixity of self that I’ve…

    Visited by the Haar

Today the harbour is shrouded in the haar – a thick sea fog that rolls in across the east coast of Scotland. It’s slowly burning off in the noon sunshine, but before it disappears completely, I want to celebrate it. Here’s an audio of me reading a piece I wrote about my love affair with the haar…

    Whispering Secrets Into the Dark

I sent out a newsletter today. Although, really, it’s not a newsletter. When I think about writing to my email subscribers, I think of those late night conversations that I’ve had at various points in my life. The sun left the sky hours before, I should be bone-tired, but I’m not, and possibility of spilling soul secrets and sharing heart truths feels incredibly present. You and I might be sitting on a doorstep somewhere. Maybe you have a lit cigarette in your hand, and I have a half-drunk glass of wine in mine. Perhaps we’ve been out dancing, laughing our heads off and sashaying our hips, waving our arms, swishing…
