The Apples of Iduna, My Year with a Goddess – Guest Post from Sandi Davis
This guest post by Sandi Davis is part of a series celebrating the My Word Goddess Readings by honouring the gifts of the goddesses that stepped forward in 2014…. My year with the goddess Iduna can be summed up with this encounter. I am in a heavily wooded forest alive with spring. The sun is shining brightly, the rich color so intense it almost hurts to look. Almost. A young maiden comes from behind one of the trees. She is dressed in soft light layers that float in the breeze, her hair lose and wild. She carries a large, flat basket piled high with apples. Smiling and…

Returning for 2015 – My Word Goddess Readings
So, on Monday, I started accepting orders for the 2015 My Word Goddess Readings, and I sent out the first of them yesterday. Shrouded in sage smoke, I called out the names of each of the 78 goddesses that I work with most intimately, and then I began the process of matchmaking each reading request to the goddess that was stepping forward for them. This is an incredibly special offering – not least because it’s become a part of so many women’s sacred practice, but because performing this service year after year, I feel the very great reverence for the divine feminine infuse my whole being, and I am…

Where the Virtual Meets the Sacred
Yesterday, I spent most of the day building virtual altars. You see, each Practical Magic Business Circle sister has her own space within the circle itself. A place to call her own, where she can seed her intentions, share her struggles and successes, ask for guidance, for support, and to deeply connect with her business. On each altar, I added some information about the business goddess that stepped forward to meet both circle sister and her business, along with a link to a Pinterest board I’ve created for that goddess, and an image that I think resonates with the particular gifts this goddess is bringing. Each one of these altars…

Invitational Marketing or Why I Don’t Hard Sell
It’s not in me to do a hard sell. I really don’t see the point in them. Our lives are full of things that contribute to feelings of tension and pressure. You don’t need me contributing to that. You really don’t. Pressing on pain points to manipulate you into clicking the Buy Now button? No, thank you. Really not my style. Not only do I have absolutely no desire whatsoever to capitalise on another’s pain, but I don’t actually think a hard sell makes good business sense. Especially for offerings such as mine. And, I suspect, such as yours. Think about it. I have this current offering – the Practical…

Where Edgedancers Find Home
The tide was way out. Further than I’ve seen it in a long time. A whole other layer was revealed of the breakwater. A layer where the large stones were not ordered to create a smooth gradient. But were instead a messy disordered pile, which then gave way to tall spikes of sea kelp that stuck straight up from the low waves. I was out for a walk to the lighthouse. And while I began near the top of the breakwater, I soon found myself standing on these revealed rocks. I hopped lightly from one to the other, keeping my balance as I navigated a non-existent path encrusted with limpets…
