    An Ode To The Scabs

Can you see my scabby places? They’re not pretty. They’re not beautiful. And they’re not polished. Can you see my scabby places? These healing places where the raw edges of myself are knitted back together. Can you see my scabby places? They’re not pretty. They’re not beautiful. And they’re not polished. A Wee Confession About My Word Of The Year

My Word of 2014 – IGNITE My word for this year is IGNITE. And if I’m being completely honest with you, it scares me to death. Even now as I’m looking at it, I’m half-wishing that I’d chosen something different. Only half-wishing, though, because I know it’s the right word. I know that because I can feel my whole self rising up to meet it. But yes, it terrifies me. To ignite means… 1.a. To cause to burn. b. To set fire to. 2. Invitations to be delighted. And love. Always love. What’s 2014 calling in for…

Turn your face to the moon, and allow your face to be kissed by its light. 2. Dance to the beat of your heart as it pulses its refrain “I’m alive I’m alive I’m alive”. 3. Spiral into the mandala of you. 4. Create a Pinterest board as an altar of your devotion to the sacred calling…

No Such Thing As A Bad Goddess

I’m working through the first big batch of 2014 My Word Goddess Readings right now, and it struck me as I was emailing one out, that some of these goddesses might be interpreted as “bad” goddesses to get as a guide for the year. That someone might read the description and read doom and gloom into the coming months, when that’s really not the case. Yes, there are some goddesses that we associate with the light, with ease and luxury and wealth and romance. And there are goddesses that we associate with the dark, with challenge and release and transformation and struggle. But the truth is that all goddesses, every…
