CAULDRON – with Hestia

Come closer, coorie in, my loves.

Gather round the hearth.

The night has fallen a wee bit earlier tonight, I think.

Can you feel that chill nip in the air?

Come in, come in! Coorie in, my loves.

Want to peep inside the cauldron,

see what’s bubbling there?

It is sacred medicine –

Take a sip, my dears….

For it is yours and it is mine,

and it is of the goddess Hestia.

Stoke the fire.

Stir the brew.

Then settle in for a tale or two….

It’s been a year since I last hosted a circle, after deciding to retire the Practical Magic Business Circle in 2018. It can be hard to let something go – especially when it’s been a true source of community, wisdom, inspiration, connection and sovereignty for so many. In those strongly held, sacred circles inspiration was found, creativity flourished, new ideas were vigilantly tended, and businesses transformed and evolved into new forms that more fully aligned with purpose and with desire.

Yes, it was hard to let it go. But it was time to release it. To throw it back into the creative cauldron and let it stew so that it too might find a new form, a new purpose, a new desire….

And it has.

CAULDRON is an invitation to join me in circle as we steep ourselves in the ancient wisdom of the goddess, so that we might each receive the sacred medicine we seek.

With this first turn of the spiral, we will be calling in the Ancient Greek goddess Hestia to be our guide, to infuse our circle with her wisdom. As the eldest Olympian, she has much to teach us about the gifts of practice, of sovereignty, of hearth-tending, of promises, and of belonging. She is the Goddess of Home & Hearth, and so offers us a beautiful and perfect place to begin.

When we connect in with the inner flame of our being, of our truth, of our heart, we show up more fully as ourselves in the world. We live with purpose and drive and personal authority. We relate from a place of strength and fierce love. We gladly receive that which strengthens us and refuse that which we instinctively know is not for us.

I want to honour this time of year with you and with Hestia. I want our circle to be a place where we can each find sanctuary to be ourselves – wholly and without shame or fear  – and to follow the guidance of Hestia into deep knowing of what it means to belong to oneself.

And I want to know what we can create when we live from this place. Books and businesses. Artworks and activism. Projects and products. Communities and connections.

Ok, so this is how it will work….

We will gather for an initial 7 weeks, beginning on the 7th of Oct until the 24th of Nov in a Facebook group that I will create for us.

You might not know this, as it is a hidden talent of mine, but I build beautiful Facebook groups. I hold them as holy. They are our digital temples. As I craft them, I do so with the values of love and care and respect and acceptance and strength and wisdom. I blend the twin desires of a space to be an individual and a space to gather as a collective. And I endeavour to make them as easy and as simple to navigate as possible. I want everything that is shared there by you and by me to be as accessible to us as possible while remaining safely held.

In our FB group, we will commit to a practice of morning pages – a daily writing practice – an act of devotion that is in alignment with Hestia’s teachings and which will gives us an opportunity to process our learnings.

I will be sharing posts every Tuesday and Thursday that introduce and explore the goddess guidance of Hestia, and how the ancient myths that concern her continue to offer us contemporary wisdom. To that end, we will be calling in a few gods this time too! Chronos, Poseidon, Hermes, Dionysius & Apollo.

You can think of these posts as ingredients to add to our CAULDRON, and our Monday check-ins as hearth tending, our Friday reflections as scrying the surface of the medicine for soul-truths, and our Wednesday calls as our chance to gather together and share the results from our practice, the mirroring of our medicine, the witnessing of our circle.

Our calls will be every Wednesday evening 7pm UK time, and will run for roughly 60mins. Calls will be recorded with the download link for that recording made available in the group for those who could not attend. And they will be hosted using Zoom, with the option to participate through video link or audio only.

An additional element….

I considered offering two entry points into the circle at two different prices, with the higher price including a 60min 1-on-1 call with me where we draw some tarot cards, draw up your astrology chart, plot your natal Hestia (the asteroid Vesta), track transiting Hestia, and basically dive deep into her goddess guidance for you.

But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that I really want everyone in the circle to have the opportunity to take me up on this call. I want each of you to know where this goddess asteroid lives in your chart, and I want you to know where she is visiting too. I want you to feel supported in crafting your own personal connection to this wonderful goddess.

Throughout the weeks that we will be circling, the goddess asteroid Hestia will be in retrograde – this means that from our vantage point on earth, she appears to be moving backwards through the heavens. You may already be familiar with Mercury retrogrades, but all the planets and asteroids move through retrograde periods also. These are special times for reflecting, reviewing, recollecting, recording, retracing, regenerating. And with each planet or asteroid, we focus in on particular themes and narrative threads.

So truly, as we circle, we will be in a portal where we can give ourselves the time and the space to steep, brew and distill our Hestia medicine. And to that end, I will connect with each member of the circle in a private call bringing along my best story skills, my gift for asking the right questions, my intuitive seeing, and my innate capacity to show up as a compassionate and loving witness.

There will be an option to continue circling for another 6 weeks, for an additional price that will include our check in and reflection prompts, our weekly calls and your 2020 My Word Goddess Reading. In this continuation circle, together we will see the old year out and the new year in, we will cross over the threshold of the winter solstice and we will witness the shift of Hestia’s transit as her asteroid stations direct and begins to move forward once again.

This option will only be available to those who claim their place in the initial 7 week circle beginning October 7th. And will be priced at £150, which includes your 2020 My Word Goddess Reading (valued at £30).
