Teatime – A Poem
Sit down and have a cup of tea with me. Your choice. Earl Grey, Peppermint, Lemon & Ginger, Chai, Tetley…. I’ll be mother. Milk? Sugar? Lemon? Now that we’re all settled, you with your tea and me with mine, let’s have a chat. I’ll tell you my dreams, my fears, my desires, my stories. And you’ll tell me yours. We’ll laugh. We’ll shed the occasional tear. We’ll be each other’s cheerleader, confidant, co-pilot. We’ll cut through the bullshit, the fog and the nostalgic ties that bind us to the too small versions of ourselves. We’ll even share a sliver of silence or two, unspoken crumbs carelessly left upon our saucers.…

In the Red Tent
Yesterday something very special happened. My daughter and I participated in the initiation of the first Red Tent in Scotland. A circle of women came together and shared and laughed and danced and sang. Tears were shed, sage was burned, food was shared. Here are some of my photos from the day… The Red Tent is a space where women can connect with each other through the honouring of our bodies’ cycles. First blood, menstruation, peri-menopause, menopause – a woman’s life is shaped by the spiral. She circles through the weeks, the months, the years, the sacred calling to her through the rhythms of her body. Are you listening? To…

On Creating A Financial Flow Altar
Yesterday, on the full moon, I took a moment or two to refresh my financial flow altar. I first created it last year during a period of time when my finances felt stagnant and my energy around money was exceptionally sluggish. This practice of creating an altar really helped me and my financial situation, and so I’m sharing it with you today (along with pictures!). (I’m also sharing a wee gift with you too, so make sure you read to the bottom of this post!) Now, please do not get me wrong – I am not saying that the creation of an altar will solve all your money woes. My…

Once Upon a Stitch….
Soulskin spills across my lap and trails down towards the floorboards, the soft shuffle and whisper of my fat bamboo needles dancing through the yarn accompanying its descent. The rhythm lulls me into a state of peace – soothing, settling, calming. Knitting these sacred garments, I feel whole, I feel full and I feel love. I don’t remember learning to knit. In my family it is passed on through mothers & grandmothers. My daughter knits beautifully. My 5 year-old niece can even produce a passable scarf for her dollies. I have a beautiful memory, from when I was very little, of sitting on the back lawn at Grandma and Grandad’s…

My Birthday Gift For You
This is the moment that the sun rose up from behind the horizon, and the first rays lit up my 33rd birthday. I can’t really explain why, but today feels really important. More important, perhaps than other birthdays. Almost like it’s loaded with a significance that’s beyond my understanding. That’s why I got up early and watched the sun slip into the day. It’s also why I want to give you a gift. I’ve been sharing all last week excerpts from the 6 goddess stories from my new more-than-just-a-book Virgins & Lovers: Ancient Wisdom for the Modern Goddess. However, another major component of this product is the visualisations. So, I…
