In the Red Tent

Yesterday something very special happened. My daughter and I participated in the initiation of the first Red Tent in Scotland. A circle of women came together and shared and laughed and danced and sang. Tears were shed, sage was burned, food was shared.

Here are some of my photos from the day…

The Red Tent is a space where women can connect with each other through the honouring of our bodies’ cycles. First blood, menstruation, peri-menopause, menopause – a woman’s life is shaped by the spiral. She circles through the weeks, the months, the years, the sacred calling to her through the rhythms of her body.
