October Moon Treats
There’s a story brewing. Can’t you sense it? Can’t you taste it as it blows in on the tail of that cold north wind?
It sweeps along the gutters collecting the spent leaves of summer now turned rust and saffron. It whistles through the boughs of the tree that swing and sway in response. It catches the strands of my hair, the hem of my coat, the fabric of my skirt, catching me mid-stride, threatening to topple me into the street.
It’s tugging at the words that are caught in my throat, stuck on my tongue. It’s calling them forth, a siren on the rocks of narrative promise.
Yes, there is indeed a story brewing…
